One of the island's most prominent artists, George Allan will be showcasing his recent collection of artwork at Viewpoints Gallery in an exhibition titled 'Under Maui Skies' from December 17th Ð January 13th. His palette knife work is legendary, creating oil paintings that reveal the eye and skill of a master. Plein Air is the primary focus of his artwork, and to watch him paint is inspiring. Like a maestro conducting an orchestra, his palette knife dances across the canvas, lightly delivering superlative notes of color in the creation of another exquisite piece of artwork. Allan has painted subjects from the top of Haleakala to the hidden lushness of Hana, to the subtle profile of a still life, with strength and subtlety. He isolates visual vignettes that encapsulate the light, the atmosphere and the essence of the moment, bringing controlled clarity to his subjects and to the eye of the beholder, a visual delight and inspiring approach to life on Maui.

A reception for the artist is scheduled for Saturday, December 20th at 5:00pm beginning with an artist walk-through. George Allan will also be conducting a series of oil painting demonstrations on Sunday, December 21st and January 11th from 1:00 - 4:00pm. All events are open to the public.
