In the creation of this collection Sharon McGauley states, "Ahana is the reflection of light. I am interested in the nature of shapes: how the ripples in a wave can be the same as the color patterns in a cloud. I love the idea that patterns in nature are recurring. It is disorienting and familiar at the same time; sometimes I am not sure what I am looking at. These reflections and repetitions are everywhere and are a large part of the reason painting can be universal. I set out to paint a particular place and hope it is reminiscent of many others."
