Amanda McConnell was born in New York, New York and has lived
in Hawaii for the past 25 years. She comes from a family of artists
and spent many years watching her father painting his favorite
model...her mother. The human figure remains a most meaningful
metaphor in McConnell's work, conveying her deepest feelings about
nature.
