Suzy's
parents were both in the arts. She first studied art with Rex
Brandt when she was 8 years old. At 12 she ushered at the Pageant
of the Masters which stimulated her classical art background so
at 18 she went to Europe for a year to see the great masters. Then
she became a mother, a musician, a psychologist and a building contractor
before coming back to art. She studied decorative painting and watercolor
for 5 years and became a well-known Muralist in San Francisco. Two
of her murals may be seen at the San Francisco International Airport. |

Suzy came to Hawaii in 1998, was inspired by the local
people, Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. Her great love for the people
and the culture now makes Hawaii feel like home. Her strong colors
and designs are used in subject matter which runs from hula to canoe
festivals and from upcountry pineapple workers to paniolos. Suzy has
gained recognition in the short time she has been on Maui, juried
into the prestigious Art Maui and selling her pieces before the show
even opened and she won Best in Show at the Great Makawao Paint Out.
Suzy was featured by in a

2003.
