| "The Hawaiian islands are such yeasty places, expecially the Big Island of Hawaii. I could feel and see creation and destruction, destruction and creation. This portion of my Genesis Series began after a trip to the Big Island. An island which is still in the process of becoming. When I returned home, I looked at gentle Maui and realized it once went through the same dramatic process of creation." | ![]() Genesis VIII ©1996 Julie Schoenecker |

Julie already had started a Genesis series several years ago with three relief etchings inspired by beehives. They are cellular works which she includes in her show of the Genesis works shown here so the viewer could share her sense of journey. New works in this series include three Out of the Darkness pieces, four In The Beginning pieces, and Genesis VIII through Genesis XV, three of which are shown here. |
| The larger images in this series measure 22 x 30 inches (33 x 41 inches framed). Genesis VIII, IX, and X comprise an astonishing triptych suitable for a boardroom or large living room. They were done using a process developed by Julie using luminous pigmented inks requiring multiple impressions to achieve the final result. These are one-of-a-kind pieces, unique in the world of art. The images on this page and the unsold remainder of the series can be seen by appointment at any time. | ![]() Genesis XI ©1996 Julie Schoenecker |
